Thelma Kester

November 13, 1914 — March 18, 2011

Thelma Moorman Kester, 96, passed away on Friday, March 18, 2011 at the Lincoln Community Care Center in Lincoln, Missouri.
Thelma was preceded in death by her husband, Forrest, parents, Erwin and Ethyl Moorman, two sisters, Helen Mengel and Alta June Tousley, and one daughter Jerry Lou Sykes. Thelma is survived by one sister, Melba Troyer of Batesville, Arkansas and one daughter, Connie Zuber of Lincoln, Missouri, two son-in-laws John Zuber and Roland Sykes; three grandchildren; their spouses; eight great grandchildren and a very large extended church family.
Thelma dedicated her life to serving God through her work with children, music, and writing. She loved camping and traveling with her husband Forrest throughout the Ozarks and Southwest. Her work with children centered around RLDS and Restoration Church reunions, Orioles and Skylarks, teaching Sunday school classes, organizing and directing music and drama groups, and giving piano lessons. In Thelma’s eyes her greatest accomplishment was the writing of her book, The Light Shall Not Go Out. It is a testimony of her life, love and faith in Jesus. Thelma will be missed greatly by her family and extended church family.
