Vivian Kilgore (Wehmeyer)

Vivian Irene Kilgore, 83 of Independence, MO passed away Wednesday, July 20, 2022 at Rosewood Health Center. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, July 25, 2022 at the Carpenter Cemetery in Chilhowee, MO. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Carpenter Cemetery Association. Vivian was born December 9, 1938 in Blairstown, MO to Glenn and Irene (Ward) Wehmeyer. She lived in Chilhowee for a number of years and later moved to Clinton and then to Kansas City, KS. She was a beloved wife, mother and homemaker most of her life. She has lived the past 10 years in The Groves where she would help new residents adjust. She was very outgoing and enjoyed volunteering her time. She was a longtime member of the United Methodist Church in Chilhowee. Survivors include; a son, Michael Strong and wife Alisa of Columbia, MO; a sister, Marjorie Rector of Raytown, MO and many cousins and other extended family and friends. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Cecil Kilgore who passed away in 2002, a son, Gregory Kilgore who passed away in 2007 and a brother Kenneth Wehmeyer.
