Margaret Irene Kimak, 90 of Sugar Creek, MO, passed away, Monday, May 13, 2013 at Kingswood Senior Living Community. Services will be 2:00 p.m., Friday, May 17, 2013 at the Carson-Speaks Chapel, 1501 W. Lexington Avenue, Independence, MO 64051. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 6 to 8:00 p.m., Thursday evening, May 16, 2013 at the Chapel. Donations may be made in her name to St. Cyril’s Catholic Church Altar and Rosary Society or to Kansas City Hospice & Palliative Care. Margaret was born November 22, 1922 in Kansas City, KS to Frederick Oliver and Mary Darlene (Emrich) Bittiker. She was a beloved wife, mother and homemaker who enjoyed baking, sewing, traveling, gardening and most of all spending time with her family and friends. She supported her community and gave faithfully to her favorite groups including, Hillcrest Transitional Housing, Sugar Creek United Methodist Church and the Independence Rotary Club. She is survived by three sons: Roy Howard Hilliard III and wife Joyce of Independence, MO, Frederick Michael Kimak of Edwards, MO and John Wayne Kimak and wife Nancy of Independence, MO; five grandchildren: J’Nan Kimak Erker, Terri Lynn Poole, Gary Lynn Hilliard, Raymond Hilliard and Brenda Michelle Robinson and numerous great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and extended family. She was preceded in death by; her first husband, Roy Howard Hilliard, Jr. while in service during World War II in 1945; her second husband, John Kimak. in 2002; two sons, infant John Kimak, Jr., and Raymond Lee Hilliard and four brothers, Raymond, Robert, Joseph and Theodore Bittiker.
