Lucile D. King, 89, Independence, MO passed away Thursday, April 5, 2012.
Visitation will be from 1:00-2:00 p.m., Monday, April 9, 2012 at Carson-Speaks Chapel; 1501 W. Lexington Ave, Independence, MO. 64052. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Burial to follow at Mt. Washington Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the City Union Mission or the American Heart Association.
Lucile was born January 29, 1923 in Supply, AR the daughter of John and Pearlie (Fowler) Duff. She was employed as a cook for 12 years at Truman High School. Lucile was a past member of Norfleet Baptist Church and a current member at Noland Road Baptist Church. She enjoyed quilting, and being outdoors gardening.
Lucile was preceded in death by her husband, Hugh in 2006; son Paul L. King in 1994; sisters, Bonnie Rapert and Glenn Hollingshad; brothers, Rod Duff, Harold Duff and her parents.
Survivors include her daughter, Erma June Humphrey and husband Charles of Aubrey, TX; son, Danny R. King and wife Betty of Blue Springs; daughter, Pearlie Jane Thoeni of Basehor, KS; seven grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; four great great grandchildren; sisters, Nadine Fee of Cahokia, IL, Mary Rapert of Blytheville, AR; and brother, Ryan Duff of Maynard, AR.
