Mickey Kinney

Mickey P. Kinney, 65, of Blue Springs, MO passed away Sunday, November 2, 2008 at St. Joseph Medical Center surrounded by his family. Services will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, November 7, 2008 at Speaks Suburban Chapel. Visitation will be 6-8:00 p.m. Thursday, November 6, 2008 in the chapel. Contributions may be made to the Salvation Army. Burial with full military honors in Leavenworth National Cemetery. Mickey was born March 4, 1943 in Eldorado, KS to Pearl and Alice Arrena (Essex) Kinney. He proudly served in the U.S. Navy retiring in 1980 after 21 ½ years of service as a Chief Petty Officer. He then went to work for Independence Power and Light for the last 27 years. His life was centered around his family, his eight grandchildren were the light of his world. He was a loving husband, father, grandpa and friend. Mickey is survived by his wife of 38 years, Sherry (Johnson) Kinney; daughters Tiffanie Kinney-Winger and husband John, Sara Stewart and husband Chad; son Michael Kinney and wife Vanessa; grandchildren Taylor, Jacob, Madelyn, Ethan, Chase, Aidan, Ty and Charlotte; sister and brother-in-law Brigadier and Mrs. Lew (Alta) Forney; and by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and special friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters and three brothers.
