Emel Dean Kissee, 78, Warrensburg, MO formerly of south Kansas City passed away April 17, 2009. A committal service with Full Military Honors will be held at 1 pm, Friday April 24, 2009 at the National Cemetery in Springfield, MO; cremation.
Emel was born Nov. 5 1930 in Sparta, MO and graduated from Ozark High School. He enlisted in the U.S. Air Force at age 22 eventually achieving the rank of Master Sergeant. During his nearly twenty-three year career, he served tours of duty in England, Spain, one year in Vietnam, the Lucian Islands and Italy. Following his retirement from the USAF, he worked for Sprint from 1976 to 1987. He was a Shriner, a member of the Air Force Sergeants’ Assoc., and the VFW.
Emel was preceded in death by his wife Audrey Kissee in 1987; brother Richard Kissee in 2008 and sister Wanda Hayworth. He is survived by daughter Linda Blomeyer and husband Mark, Leawood, KS; son David Kissee and wife Joni, Kansas City, MO; brother Jim Kissee and wife Mary, Rogersville, MO; grandchildren Parker Blomeyer and Shelbi Kissee; and many nieces and nephews.
