Elroy “Mickey” Kleist, Lake Tapawingo, MO, passed away March 8, 2008.
Mickey was born June 9, 1917 in West Allis, WI to George & Alma Kleist. His thirty-three year career with the Social Security Administration took him to Baltimore, Milwaukee, Chicago and Kansas City. A short portion of that time he served in the U.S. Army.
He is survived by his wife, Clayetta Kleist, of the home; son Tom and his wife Sue Ann, Baldwin City KS; daughter Janet, Maryville, MO; stepsons David Wilson and wife Linda, Lone Jack, MO; Mark Wilson, Lee’s Summit, MO; three grandchildren: Susan Lund, John Kleist, Ryan Wilson and two great-grandchildren: Heather and Dalton Lund.
Cremation; no services are planned. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to The National Kidney Foundation or Grace Hospice of KC.
