William C. Kleoppel, 84, of Independence, MO passed away April 2, 2009 at his home. A rosary will be held at 6:00 PM followed by a visitation until 8:00 PM on Tuesday, April 7 at Speaks Suburban Chapel, 18020 E. 39th St., Independence. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 AM Wednesday, April 8 at St. Ann’s Catholic Church, Independence; burial to follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Contributions may be made to St. Ann’s Parish or the Parkinson’s Research Foundation. William was born Oct. 29, 1924 in Cedar Rapids, NE to William and Elizabeth (Buechter) Kleoppel, moving to Missouri at the age of 15. He married Betty Jean Salyer Aug. 20, 1947 and together raised six children. He worked as a Ford mechanic before his retirement, and enjoyed farming, fishing, hunting, walking, and restoring Mustangs. William was preceded in death by his wife Betty (Salyer) Kleoppel on Feb. 1, 2009; parents; and six siblings: Wilfred Kleoppel, Katherine Sutton, Joseph, John, Robert, and Raymond Kleoppel. He is survived by six children: Mary Lampton (Larry), Bill Kleoppel, Sue Jasper (Gerald), Paul Kleoppel (Brenda), Barbara Kleoppel, and Jeff Kleoppel (Carla); twelve grandchildren: Jason Kleoppel, Kimberly Kueser, Shawn Cunningham, Jill Caracci, Chandra Hamilton, Mallory, Shelby, Jordan, Kaylee and Kendall Kleoppel, Melissa Wilson, and James Jasper; as well as ten great grandchildren; and two brothers: James Kleoppel (Shirley) and Bernard Kleoppel (Wilma Fern).
