George Kroesen

George D Kroesen II, 65, Oak Grove, MO died Jan. 5, 2012. A memorial service will be held at 2 pm, Sat., Jan. 14 at Carson-Speaks Chapel, 1501 W. Lexington Ave., Independence, MO 64052; cremation. In lieu of flowers the family requests contributions to Wayside Waifs, 3901 Martha Truman Rd., K.C. MO 64137.
George, known to his friends as “Tiny”, was born Oct. 29, 1946 in Independence, MO and graduated from Ft. Osage High School in 1965. He served in the U.S. Navy in Vietnam. He was a truck driver for LaFarge Concrete Company for most of his career. He loved animals and cared for many throughout his life.
George was preceded in death by his father George D. Kroesen, Sr. and brothers-in-law Jack Cooper and Roy Mart. He is survived by son George D. Kroesen III, Buckner, MO; daughter Diedre Kim Friend, Ferrelview, MO; mother Louise Kroesen, Oak Grove, MO; sisters Barbara Mart, also of Oak Grove, MO; LaNita Cooper, Holden, MO; five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
