Our loving mother, Ruth A. Krueger, age 94, of Independence, MO, left this world to be with her Lord on Dec. 19, 2010. Services will be at 10 am, Tuesday, Dec. 28, 2010 at Speaks Suburban Chapel, 18020 E. 39th Street, Independence, MO; interment at Forest Hill Cemetery. Visitation will begin one hour prior to service time at the chapel. The family suggests contributions to Outreach International, 129 Lexington Ave., Independence, MO 64050-3705.
Ruth was born in 1916 in Kansas City, MO. As a child she participated in dancing, ballet and dramatics. She took part in many plays at Paseo High School. Her childhood dream was to become an actress.
Ruth and Otto A. Krueger, Jr. were wed in 1937. She had many interests as an adult. As a young mother she was a Cub Scout Den Mother for her sons who all became Eagle Scouts. She enjoyed many hobbies including crafting, crocheting, bell choir and line dancing. She was a very active member in the Community of Christ Church at Blue Ridge, South Chrysler and The Groves congregations. She and her husband, Junior, were volunteers at Truman Medical Center East. She retired from the I.R.S. in 1978 after twenty-one years of service.
Ruth was preceded in death by her husband of fifty-seven years, Otto. She is survived by three sons and a daughter: Otto A. Krueger III, Oak Grove, MO; Warren E. Krueger and wife Betty Jane, Leawood, KS; John E. Krueger and wife Marlene, Estes Park, CO; Ardis R. Wilson and husband Gary, Independence, MO; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; sister-in-law Dorothea Johnson and three nieces.
