Lorraine J. Kueker, 82 of Independence passed away Fri. Mar. 14, 2008 at Monterey Park Nursing Center. Services will be 6:00 pm, Fri. Mar. 21, 2008 at the Speaks Suburban Chapel, 18020 E. 39th St., Indep, MO with the visitation following the service from 6:30 �" 8:00 pm. Graveside services will be 10:00 am, Sat. Mar. 22, 2008 at St. Joseph Memorial Park, St. Joseph, MO. Contributions are suggested to St. Paul Lutheran Church. Lorraine was born on Sep. 28, 1925 to Oscar and Jennie (Halverson) Swenson in Marshfield, WI. She married Elmer Kueker on Nov. 21, 1945 and was married for 59 years, prior to his death. She had worked in the jewelry department of W.T. Grant Drugstore in Kansas City for 15 years, retiring in 1970. Lorraine was a loving mother and grandmother who enjoyed sewing and reading. She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Independence and was past president of it’s Lutheran Women’s League. She was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer in 2005 and a son, Robert in 2007. She is survived by a daughter-in-law Katherine of Independence; a son, Bryce Stehman of Kansas City, MO; six grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren.
