Dorothy Marie Kuhn (Hansen)

Dorothy Marie Kuhn, 90 of Independence, MO passed away Saturday, February 18, 2023 at John Knox Care Center. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, February 24, 2023 at the Speaks Suburban Chapel, 18020 E. 39th St., Independence, MO 64055. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 1:00 p.m., until service time Friday at the chapel. Dorothy was born December 26, 1932 in Rupert, ID to William and Daisy (Wilferth) Hansen and has been a longtime area resident. Dorothy was a registered nurse and had worked in the ER and the Independence Sanitarium as well as a nurse for a private medical practice. She enjoyed her church work, was a den mother for a Cub Scout troop and was a member of the Professional Nurses Association. She was a longtime member of the Community of Christ, E. 39th Street congregation. She is survived by; her son, Stephen Kuhn; a daughter, Lisa Bartels and 5 grandchildren, Emily, Katherine, James, Christopher and Haley. She was preceded in death by her husband, James P.
