Maxine Marsh LaRoe, 88, Raymore, formerly of Independence, MO passed away Wednesday, June 30, 2010. A Celebration of Maxine’s Life will be 10:00 AM Saturday, July 3, 2010 at Carson-Speaks Chapel, 1501 W. Lexington Ave. Independence, MO. Burial to follow at Floral Hills Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9:00-10:00 AM Saturday at the funeral home.
Maxine was born Aug. 1, 1921, to Alma E. and Mac W. Marsh, she graduated from Northeast High School in 1938. She was employed by Trans World Airlines for a number of years before she met the love of her life Robert C. LaRoe. They married April 30, 1945, and almost made 60 years together before his death on August 24, 2004. Maxine and Bob moved to Independence, Mo., in 1948 and became active members in First Christian Church there. Bob went to work for Standard Oil and Maxine to Mid-Continent Public Library – North Independence Branch.
Maxine leaves her sons, Dr. Ross Marsh LaRoe and his wife Claudia of Granville, OH; and Robert John and his wife Dawn of Kansas City; and grandson R. Stephen of San Francisco, CA. She was preceded in death by her sister, Doris Bosley and her parents.
