Brett Eugene Lacosse

Brett Eugene LaCosse, 49, passed away on September 25, 2015. A memorial service will be held at 11am Thursday, October 1, 2015, at St. Mark’s Catholic Church in Independence. Contributions may be made to Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, P. O. Box 650309, Dallas, TX 75265. Brett was born on September 27, 1965, in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. He served as an alter boy at both Holy Spirit and Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Parishes in Fairfield, California, and even assisted with the grading of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church property as a teenager. He graduated from Holy Spirit School in Fairfield, California, in 1979, and St. Patrick’s High School in Vallejo, California in the class of 1983. He served in the Navy, and worked as a Used Car Manager & Trainer for Cable Dahmer Automotive Group in Independence, MO for 13 years. In Brett’s youth, he loved playing football, baseball, and basketball, and enjoyed water skiing with his family; as an adult, his sport of choice was golf. He is survived by his parents, William and Judith LaCosse and Janice Kersenbrock; daughter, Ashley Clark (Ryan Yates); grandchildren, Ashlynn and Charles Yates; grandmother, Ethyl Nelson; sister, Patricia LaCosse, brothers, Robert LaCosse and Rich Kersenbrock; companion Melissa Adrian; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. Brett was preceded in death by his brother, Mike Kersenbrock.
