Michael E. LaDue, 75, of Lee’s Summit, MO died April 11, 2013 at Lee’s Summit Medical Center. A graveside inurnment will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 16, at the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Higginsville, MO. Mike was born in Bloomington, IL and traveled considerably in the U.S. as a youngster and son of an Army officer. His parents were Marian Eddy and Paul Elton LaDue. He attended the University of Missouri, John Carroll University, University of Maryland and American University. Mike served with the 101st Airborne Division and Special Forces in Germany during the time of the Cold War, which led to further deployment with Air America Airlines in Southeast Asia, the U.S. Dept. of State and the Central Intelligence Agency, all in this same area. Upon retirement, he volunteered his time at Crittenton Center and Children’s Mercy Hospital Cancer Center, as well as serving as a mentor to many young people. Mike will be greatly missed by his son, Blake Seutter of Lee’s Summit, MO; his brother Wade LaDue and wife Gloria of Holmes Beach, FL and Independence, MO; nephew, Paul LaDue and wife Katrina and their children Nick and Elise; niece Ginny Gordanier and husband Kyle and children Cody, Ella and Robert; plus many others. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Crittenton Psychiatric Center or Children’s Mercy Hospital.
