Judith Lalla

Judith Ann Lalla, 73, Grain Valley, MO, formerly of Independence, MO, passed away Aug. 22, 2011. Mass of Christian burial will be at 10 am, Wed. Aug. 24 at St. Mark‘s Catholic Church, 3736 Lee Summit Rd, Independence, MO 64055; interment at Mt. Moriah Cemetery. Visitation will be 6 – 8 pm, Tuesday at Speaks Suburban Chapel, 18020 E. 39th Street, Independence, MO 64055.
Judy was born Sept. 4, 1937 in Kansas City, MO and graduated from Northeast High School. She worked for the Federal Government for thirty-four years and spent most of that time working in the Federal Crop Insurance Agency before retiring in Dec. 2010. She was a longtime member of the parish at St. Mark’s. She enjoyed reading, drives, old movies, dining out, TV and “the Boats”. Her motto was “It’s not how you start, it’s how you finish.” She was an inspiration to many who knew her.
Judy was preceded in death by sisters Hope Hepper and Faith Prescott. She is survived by daughters Cathy Lalla-Duckworth; Nancy Porter and husband Willie, all of Grain Valley, MO; Michelle Lalla-Keck and husband Michael, Greenwood, MO; nephew Mike Prescott and wife Linda, Redondo Beach, FL; and seven grandchildren.
