Vincel Earl Lambert, 87, Independence, MO, died Feb. 5, 2008 at his home. Services will be at 10 am, Sat., Feb. 9, 2008 at the First Baptist Church of Independence, to be followed by a committal service at 3 pm at St. Joseph Memorial Park. Visitation will be 6-8 pm, Friday at the Carson-Speaks Chapel. The family requests contributions to The Groves Hospice.
Vincel was born Dec. 8, 1920 in Brookfield, MO. He was a U.S. Army veteran serving as a Chaplain during and following WW II. He was a funeral director at George C. Carson & Sons Funeral Home for 25 years and retired in 1995. Vincel was an ordained Baptist minister prior to becoming a funeral director and continued to serve as a Pastor on a interim basis. He was a member of the First Baptist Church since 1969 and taught Sunday School there for many years.
Vincel is survived by his wife of 67 years, Dorothy Lambert, of the home; daughters Cheryl Cantrell and husband Carroll, Houston, TX; Marla Lambert, Independence, MO; grandchildren Jamie Long and husband Matt, Dina Cantrell, Jason Werges, Jared Werges; and six great-grandchildren.
