Dianne Lane, 74, of Independence, MO passed away August 13, 2008 at Centerpoint Medical Center. A memorial visitation will be held from 9-10:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 16, at the Carson-Speaks Chapel, 1501 W. Lexington, Independence, MO. The service will follow at 10:00 a.m. in the chapel. Contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society. Dianne was born May 26, 1934 in Lansing, Michigan to Stanley and Dorothy (Hamilton) Dodge. She graduated in the class of 1952 from Sexton High School in Lansing, MI. For many years, Dianne lived a military life, moving many times and many places with her then husband, Lt. Col. Pearce A. Lane. She has spent the last twenty-seven years in Independence. Dianne enjoyed cooking, quilting, pinochle, reading, traveling and Silver Sneakers at the YMCA. She is survived by one daughter, Nancy (Robert) King of Monroe GA; two sons, Richard (Enola) Lane of Rutledge, GA and Bruce (Debby) Lane of Woodstock, GA; one sister, Kathy Reck of Independence, MO; three brothers, John Dodge of Mason, MI, Douglas Dodge of Washington D.C. and Bill Dodge of Lansing, MI; stepmother, Louis A. Dodge of Bradenton, FL; nine grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; numerous nieces; nephews; and grandnieces and nephews; and her best buddy, Helen Tandy of Independence, MO.
