Dorothy Lane

Dorothy “Moo” Lane, 79, Independence, MO passed away Oct. 31, 2009. Services will be at 2 pm, Tuesday, Nov. 3, 2009 at Carson-Speaks Chapel, 1501 W. Lexington, Independence, MO 64052; interment at Woodlawn Cemetery. Visitation will be 6 �" 8 pm, Monday at the funeral home. The family requests contributions to a Hospice of your choice.
Moo (as her grandchildren called her) was born Oct. 13, 1930 in Foster, MO. She was a school bus driver for thirty-eight years in the Kansas City School District and retired in 1999. She was a resident of her neighborhood for over sixty years and was always concerned about the well being of her neighbors. She especially enjoyed her grand and great-grandchildren.
Moo is survived by daughter Shirley Pugsley and husband Larry, Kansas City, MO; son Larry Lane and wife Carol, Winter Springs, FL; grandchildren Chad White and wife Dana, Lee’s Summit, MO; Casity Bartelt and husband Christian, Sanford, FL; Kasey Lane, Asheville, NC; Suzen Unsell, Lee’s Summit, MO; brother Jimmy Miller, Pleasanton, KS; great-grandchildren Ava, Auston, Nathan, Katie and Christopher; and a special thanks to the Independence Police Officers for their care and compassion.
