Sugar Creek

Lanett Ann Sullivan, lovingly known as "Nettie," was born on July 9, 1971, in Perryton, Texas to Gail Travis Janzen and Sylvia Lorine (Adams) Janzen. She passed away unexpectedly on February 5, 2026, in North Kansas City, Missouri, leaving behind a legacy of love, humility, grace, and faith.

Nettie earned an Associate's degree from Rhema Bible Training College in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. Her commitment to learning and growth was evident in every aspect of her life.

Nettie was a remarkable woman whose career was marked by dedication and exceptional organizational skills. With a passion for her work, she climbed the ranks to become the Office Manager at the GOAD COMPANY, a leader in linings, where she devoted over 13 years of her life. It was here that her hard-working nature truly shined and her efforts contributed significantly to the success of the company.

Nettie was not just defined by her professional achievements; she was a beloved figure among family and friends. Known for her exceptional talent at organizing and helping everyone. When anyone needed help with anything, Marty would always say, "You need a Nettie." She had a rare gift for bringing people together and creating unforgettable moments, often while entertaining loved ones on the back deck of her home in Sugar Creek, Missouri, affectionately known as "The Cabin," which she shared with the love of her life, Martin "Marty" Sullivan. The most important and loving moments happened while loving Riley and Nora, her two Dogs. Trust us they were her Dogs!!

Nettie had a multitude of interests and hobbies that brought her immense joy, but nothing more than her faith!! A true sports enthusiast, she delighted in both playing and watching various sports, especially softball. Mixed couples softball leagues held some of her favorite memories. Golfing with family and friends brought her happiness, and she was a huge fan of the Kansas City Chiefs, Kansas City Royals, and the Mizzou Tigers. Nettie loved the water, as she was never happier when she was smiling and playing in the water. She parachuted twice and loved it.

Family meant everything to Nettie. She is survived by her loving husband, Martin "Marty" Sullivan; mother, Sylvia Janzen; brother, Travis Janzen; sister, Juli Janzen; and best friends, Kim Marlow and Dean Cox. She held a special place in her heart for her niece, Holly Kepka (Maxwell), Sophie Janzen, nephews Mason Sullivan, Jake Janzen & Jesse Janzen; great-nephew, Felix Janzen; and great-niece; Ana Janzen. The joy brought by her dogs, Riley and Nora, whom she lovingly considered her babies, added to the warmth of her life.

She was preceded in death by her father, Gail Janzen, her sister-in-law Chris Janzen; as well as her brother-in-law, Eryn Sullivan. Their memory will forever be cherished in the hearts of those who loved her.

A celebration of Nettie's life will take place on February 16, 2026, at Speaks Suburban Chapel in Independence, Missouri. Family and friends are invited to pay their respects at her service starting at 6:00 PM and the visitation that follows from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM.

Nettie's beautiful spirit lives on in the hearts of all who knew her, and her legacy will continue to inspire and guide those she leaves behind. As we remember her today, we embrace the countless memories shared and the profound impact she made throughout her life.
