Lucia Oziomek Lanpher, age 66, of Independence, Missouri passed away on January 4, 2010.
She was born Aug 16, 1943 in Wichita, Kansas and was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Arlone Cockburn. Lucia was an active member of St. Matthew United Methodist Church and up until retirement worked as a Registered Nurse in the pursuit of giving professional and compassionate care to those needing her calling. She proudly worked for Visiting Nurse Association, KC Hospice and the Medical Center of Independence.
She is survived by her loving husband Jerry Lanpher; brother Gene Nelson and wife Joan; daughter Lisa Hatt and husband Mike; son Mike Oziomek and wife DiAnna; granddaughters Rachael, Lacey and Shannon.
She is also survived by her stepdaughter Gretchen Feitz and her children, Jesse, Anna Ruth, Johanna, and Dietrich. May her eternal spirit continue to watch over a family that misses her and still needs her care.
A funeral service will be held at 10am on Friday January 8 at the Carson-Speaks Chapel 1501 W. Lexington Ave., Independence, Missouri. Relatives and friends will gather for a visitation on Thursday January 7, from 6-8pm at the chapel. Donations may be made in her name to St. Matthew United Methodist Church 2415 R.D. Mize Rd. Independence, MO 64057.
