Jeanette W. Lappine, 89, of Independence, MO peacefully passed away Saturday, June 28, 2008 at Centerpoint Medical Center. Visitation will be 5-7:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 1, 2008 at Speaks Suburban Chapel with services at 7:00 p.m. Cremation to follow services. Private inurnment of Mr. & Mrs. Lappine in Mt. Washington Cemetery at a later date. Jeanette was born July 14, 1918 in Kansas City, MO to William Lloyd and Jennie Matilda (Edstrom) McFerren. She was proud of being the longest standing member of Independence Boulevard Christian Church. Jeanette was a lady of many interests and talents. She started sewing very young and continued throughout her entire life! Along with being a master seamstress, she enjoyed camping and gardening. She and her husband were avid square and round dancers for many years. The two owned and operated Rail Line Co. since 1954. Jeanette continued in the business before passing it to their son in 2006. She is survived by her daughter Jan Falco; son Robert B. Lappine and his wife Stevie; grandchildren Jenae Messina and her husband Bobby, Robert B. Lappine, Shelley Yamnitz and her husband Kyle, and Stacey Cotrel; eight great-grandchildren Mario, Mallory, Alivia, Alyssa, Conner and Anthony; and by her brother Lloyd McFerren and his wife Maxine. Jeanette was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, R B Lappine in January 2001. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Independence Boulevard Christian Church.
