Marian Joyce Largent

Joyce Largent, 78, Blue Springs, formerly of Independence passed away Monday, July 26, 2010 at her home.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, July 30, 2010 at Nativity of Mary Catholic Church, 10017 E. 36th St. Independence, MO. Burial to follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Thursday at Carson-Speaks Funeral Home; 1501 W. Lexington Ave. Independence, MO. Memorial contributions are suggested to Little Sister of the Poor or Soldiers Angels.
She worked in medical records for 30 years at St. Joseph Hospital and Baptist Medical Center. Joyce also consulted at small hospitals, nursing homes. She formed and operated her own medical transcription business from 1984 to 1994. Her pride was her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her son, Paul Largent in 1979; brother, Frank Asbury, Jr; and her parents.
Survivors include her loving husband of 56 years, Dale Largent; daughters, Kathe Henderson (Tom) of Blue Springs; Terri Miller (Larry) of Belton; son, Mark Largent (Marla) of Pleasant Hill; grandchildren, David Miller; Felicity Colson and Julie Largent; and six great grandchildren.
