Larry Dale Burroughs passed away on January 12, 2026. Larry was born on August 24, 1965, in Independence, Missouri, to Larry W. and Sharon Burroughs.
He graduated from Truman High School in the class of 1983 and went on to college at Central Missouri State University, now known as the University of Central Missouri. He served his country in the United States Army for 4 years. Along with the National Guard for 2 years.
Larry married his beautiful wife, Alesia on August 4, 1990, and from this marriage, had 2 blessed sons.
Larry was a Customer Service and Shipment Planner for ACT (American Central Transport), to which he retired on December 1, 2025.
He was a member of Abundant Life. He loved to read and play games that were war and combat-themed. He and his wife watched and streamed many shows together. He got the opportunity to travel the country with his family on band trips. From New York City for the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. To the sunny beaches of Hawaii for the Waikiki Holiday Parade along with the USS Missouri. To the cold Tournament of Roses Parade in California. And to his favorite place, Branson, Missouri, with his wife from their honeymoon and many more times to follow.
He was quiet and soft-spoken, but when he was around close family, he was a wise crack and a comedian. Making jokes and laughing. Even with the laughs and funny jokes. He was also a wise man. And there would be a bit of wisdom from time to time. He was also a patient man; he could keep a level head to himself through many things.
Larry is survived by: his loving wife Alesia, sons Larry S and Corey, his pride and joy dog Tilly, mother Sharon, father Larry W (Lynette), sister Lori; along with many nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws, friends, and many more who will remember him fondly.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 21st, from 1-2pm at Speaks Suburban Chapel in Independence, Missouri. The celebration of life will begin at 2pm and burial will follow at Oak Ridge Memory Gardens.
