Lawrence Melvin “Larry” Moyer Jr. passed away on Wednesday, October 7th in Blue Springs, Missouri. He was 68 years old. Larry was born to Lawrence Sr. and Dora (Shields) Moyer on July 22, 1958 in Ohio.
After graduating high school Larry met his beloved wife, Terry on a blind date and they spent the next 43 years creating a life together.
Larry was a hard working, selfless man and spent 10 years dedicating his time as a paraprofessional within the Independence school system and over 20 years as a retail sales consultant at the Sears department store. He enjoyed helping and interacting with people daily.
During his down time Larry would find solace in solving word puzzles, playing cards or hanging out with his furry friend, Sam the cat. He was also an avid Kansas City Chiefs fan and enjoyed rooting for his team and watching the games with family and friends. He will be missed immensely.
Larry is survived by his loving wife, Terry (Ginn) Moyer; sisters, Peggy Turner (Dave) of Richhill, Mo., Janice Miller (Richard) of Richhill, Mo., and Mary Harp of Independence, Mo.; and numerous nieces, nephews and many wonderful friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence Moyer Sr. of Augusta, KS., Dora (Shields) Moyer of Richhill, MO.; and his sister, Sharon Ferguson of Richhill, Mo.
Larry made the kind decision to donate his body to science and a celebration of life will be held at a later date.
