Mildred Larson

Mildred M. Larson, 98, of Independence, MO went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, May 26, 2010, surrounded by her loving family. A Memorial Service is scheduled at 2:00 p.m., Saturday May 29th at the Ridgewood Community of Christ, 4341 Blue Ridge Blvd, Kansas City, MO 64133. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service from 1-2:00 p.m. Private graveside services were held at Mound Grove Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Kansas City Hospice or to the church. Mildred was born August 12, 1911 in Kansas City, MO to William and Edith (Oldham) Tesch. She was a graduate of Raytown High School where she excelled academically and was the Captain and starting center for the girl’s basketball team. Mrs. Larson was a faithful, longtime member of the Ridgewood Community of Christ. Mildred is survived by her daughter Sharon Larson Knapp (Karl); son William A. Larson (Janice); five granddaughters Karla A. Zinn, Kerrie K. Mooneyham (Scott), Dianna M. Thompson (Ron), Melissa M. Larson, Roseanna L. Smith (Michael); six grandsons David P. Larson, William “Tony” A. Larson (Lisa), Jeffrey E. Larson, Colin L. Teague (Sally), Michael E. Larson (Patricia), E. Eric Larson (Genea); nineteen great-grandchildren; nine great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Edward G. Larson; son Edward “Sam” E. Larson; granddaughter Michelle Elliot; brother Col. William A. Tesch, USAF retired.
