Laurie Ann Nagles

Laurie Ann Nagles, 65 of Independence, MO passed away Thursday, September 10, 2026. Cremation is planned with a memorial gathering to be held from 1-3:00 p.m., Friday, September 18, 2026, at the Speaks Suburban Chapel. Laurie was born on September 13, 1960 in Kansas City, MO to John O. and Sandra S. (Gardner) McCune. Laurie was a lifelong area resident and had attended Barstow and Shawnee Mission South schools. She had worked as a bartender and was an administrative assistant for a local trucking company until she retired. Laurie enjoyed long naps with her favorite dogs, afternoon Harley rides, helping those she loved and even some she didn’t. She was great at problem solving with a plethora of knowledge. There wasn’t a topic that she didn’t have her “two cents” on. She was sassy, but she did it with love. Her friends and family extended far beyond blood. She had, in her words, “found her smile again” and her family has peace in knowing that. She loved her kids, and grandkids a lot and would do anything for them. She is survived by; 3 children, Jessica Banister, Aaron York and Nathan York; her companion, Tom Crowley; 4 siblings, John McCune, Craig McCune, Carolyn McKinney and Mike McCune; her mother, Sandra McCune 9 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. She was preceded by her father, John McCune and eldest grandchild, Taylor Siebert in 2021. Donations may be made to her family for her final expenses and left in care of the chapel.
