Hazel Layman

Hazel Layman, 82, of Blue Springs, MO peacefully passed away Thursday, May 2, 2012 at her home. Services will be 3:00 p.m. Sunday May 6, 2012 at Speaks Suburban Chapel, 18020 E. 39th St., Independence, MO 64055. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service starting at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Summit Assembly Church, PO Box 1329, Lee’s Summit, MO 64063. Burial in Swan Lake Memorial Gardens. Hazel was born November 10, 1929 in Sapulpa, OK to Clifford and Margaret Irene (Clark) Stephens. Mrs. Layman is survived by her loving husband of 66 years, Kenneth Layman; daughters Glenna Rooffener and husband Dean, Sandra Layman, Beverly Parton and husband Tom, Marilyn Waterman and husband Cliff; nine grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; two sisters; one brother; and by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Hazel was preceded in death by her great-grandson Caleb Colmenares in 2011
