Gwendyl Leamon

Gwen Leamon, 75, of Blue Springs, MO passed away July 27, 2009 at the Rosewood Health Center. A memorial visitation will be held from 6-8:00 p.m. on Friday, July 31, at Woods Chapel Community of Christ. The memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 1, at the church. Inurnment will take place at a later date at Mound Grove Cemetery. Gwen was born February 6, 1934 in Taneyville, MO to Earl and Mera Grigg. She graduated from high school in Inverness, Mississippi and later graduated from Graceland College in Lamoni, Iowa. She and her husband, Roy Leamon, were married on August 11, 1962. They were appointee ministers for the Community of Christ from 1965-1994. Mrs. Leamon is survived by her husband, Roy Leamon; two daughters, Julie Twombly and husband Steve, Becky Lubbers and husband Tim; one brother, Richard Grigg; one sister, Shirley Grigg; and her five grandchildren, Dale, Derek and Daniel Twombly, Alex and Kate Lubbers.
