Saluvale Levila Tanuvasa Tuipea Leatutufu, 87, of Independence, MO peacefully passed away Friday, March 21, 2008 at her home with her family by her side. Services will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday, April 3, 2008 at the LDS Stake Center, 705 Walnut, Independence, MO. Visitation will be 6-8:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 2, 2008 at Speaks Suburban Chapel. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Blue Mills Ward Missionary Fund. Saluvale was born January 5, 1921 in Sauniatu, Upolu, Western Samoa to Onosai Molia Tanuvasa and Meiema Tonumaipe`a. She married Misilaita Leatutufu of Tula May 27, 1939 and in 1959 they were sealed for time and all eternity in the Hawaiian LDS Temple. She is survived by her children Penina McCarrol, Terry Vaiola Mitchell, Siitia Laita Leatutufu, Ronia Leatutufu Lewman, Sia Pechal, Josephine Leatutufu Wehlermann, Moana Leatutufu Brown, Aifua Leatutufu Sagapolu; 48 grandchildren; 59 great-grandchildren; 12 great-great-grandchildren. Mrs. Leatutufu was preceded in death by her husband Misilaita Leatutufu; and by her sons Kalama Laita Leatutufu, Fagalii Leatutufu, Lifi Laita Leatutufu.
