Lee Ward, 77, of Independence, Missouri passed away Tuesday,December 26, 2023. Memorial  hours are from 12:00 to 8:00 PM on Thursday, January 4, 2024, at Speaks Suburban Chapel,18020 E. 39th St., Independence, MO 64055. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials to Saint Mark Catholic Church attention Special Projects.

Lee was born July 9, 1946, in Clinton, MO. He was a licensed Missouri Funeral Director and Embalmer for over 50 years.Instead of retirement he returned to the ministry working for Saint Mark Catholic Church in pastoral care for 17 years.

Lee is survived by his wife, Emily of the home. Son, Blaine Ward and wife Debra of Belton, MO. Daughter Betsy Ward-Gales and husband Jeff of Butler, MO. Six grandchildren,Shelby Ward, Jordan Bain, Emily Ward, Jack Ward, Brody Ward and Bryce Ward. Three siblings, Donna Higgins and husband Rodney of Chilhowee, MO. Carol Belanger and husband Bob of Paulden, AZ. Earl Ward and wife Jamie of Clinton, MO. Emily's sister and brother-in-law Elaine and Charles Boten of Lee's Summit, MO.
