June 7, 1924 — April 15, 2014

Alfred Leo Lefman, 89 of Independence, MO, passed away, Tuesday, April 15, 2014 at Centerpoint Medical Center. The family will greet friends from 6 to 8:00 p.m., Friday evening at the Carson-Speaks Chapel, 1501 W. Lexington Avenue, Independence, MO 64052. Private graveside services will be held in Oak Ridge Memory Gardens. Donations may be made to Steppingstone, 5100 Noland Rd, Kansas City, MO 64133. Alfred was born June 7, 1924 in Corder, MO to Oscar and Meta (Meinershagen) Lefman. He proudly served in the US Army during WWII. After the service he went to work at Standard Oil in Sugar Creek, MO and worked there for over 32 years until he retired in the early 1980’s. He enjoyed fishing and working on his house. He was a member of St. Luke’s United Church of Christ. He is survived by; a daughter, Alice Davis of Liberty, MO; a son, Bruce Lefman and wife Barbara of Independence, MO; a brother, Lester Lefman of Kansas City, MO; 4 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren and one great great granddaughter. He was preceded in death by his wife Mae E. Lefman in 2011, a sister, Anna Louise Morstain and 2 brothers, Elmer Lefman and Ralph Lefman.
