Lemana Tusi Atagi, 59, of Spring Hill, passed away Sunday, May 10, 2026, at Olathe Medical Center.
“Stone,” as he was known to so many, was born on April 2, 1967, in Laie, HI to Tusi and Suisami (Fa’alogoifo) Atagi. He spent the first years of his life surrounded by family, culture, and the spirit of the islands before relocating with his family to Independence, MO at the age of 5.
Stone attended Harry S. Truman High School, where he built lifelong friendships and became known for his larger-than-life personality, sense of humor, and unwavering loyalty to the people he loved. He carried those qualities with him throughout every season of his life.
On July 14, 1990, Stone married Diana Weeks. Together, they built a family rooted in love, resilience, and strength. During much of that time, he worked as a supervisor at the GNB Battery Plant in Fairfax. Though their marriage ended in 2009 after 19 years together, they remained a close-knit family, continuing to support one another and prioritize the bond they shared through their children and grandchildren.
From 1996 to 2018, Stone made Shawnee his home, where he created countless memories with family and friends and became a familiar presence to many in the community. In 2018, he moved to Utah with Bryce and Rachel. In 2022, the family relocated back to Spring Hill, where Stone spent the remainder of his life surrounded by his 3 children and 6 grandchildren, who were his whole world. Those years became deeply meaningful, filled with family, laughter, and moments that will be cherished forever.
For the past 3 years, Stone worked as a machine operator for FG Cardinal Glass Company. He was known as a hardworking man who showed up for his family no matter the circumstance. More than any title or job, Stone will be remembered for his heart — his humor, his presence, his storytelling, and the way he made people feel like family.
Stone enjoyed playing pool, riding motorcycles, dancing, spending time with his grandchildren, movie dates with Makai and Koa, supporting his nieces and nephews at their various sporting events, and spending time in the studio listening to his son Bryce make music.
He is survived by his 3 children, Bailey Atagi, Blake Atagi, and Bryce Atagi and fiancée Rachel; 6 grandchildren, Makai, Koa, Kyson, Kaz, Kahlia, and Haven; and 6 siblings, Tusi Atagi, Ifo Atagi, Selesa Atagi, Rowena Stone, Nive Faletau, and Rickie Atagi.
He was preceded in death by his parents Tusi and Suisami Atagi, and his 3 siblings, Atagi Atagi, Eka Atagi, and Rosita Atagi.
He leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, and unforgettable memories that will continue to live on through all who knew him.
Services will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 20, 2026, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Stake Center, with cremation to follow the services. The family will greet friends from 10:00 a.m. until service time Wednesday at the church. The family requests donations be made in his name to the WillowTree Supports Foundation, 23733 West 83rd Terrace Shawnee, KS 66227. This is the day service his son Blake currently attends.
