Betty Jean Lemasters, 79, Overland Park, KS, formerly of Vandalia, MO, died Monday, September 3, 2007, at the Garden Terrace of Overland Park. Graveside services will be at 3:00 pm, Thursday, at the Vandalia Cemetery, Vandalia, MO. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions to the Alzheimer’s Association, 3846 W. 75th St., Prairie Village, KS, 66208. Mrs. Lemasters was born March 18, 1928, to William and Bessie (Wallace) McKinsey. She married Bill Lemasters and they farmed for many years in the Vandalia area. Betty loved helping on the farm and assisted in many ways. She loved to sew and cook and took particular pride in her grandchildren. She was a longtime member of the Vandalia Christian Church. Betty is survived by her husband of 62 years, Bill Lemasters, Overland Park, KS; two children, Nancy Ludwig, Overland Park, KS, and Chuck Lemasters, Eugene, OR; four grandchildren, Brian Hesse, Chicago, IL, Carrie DeBruler and Craig Lemasters, both of Seattle, WA, and Kristina Lemasters, Portland, OR; and a sister-in-law, Evelyn Lemasters, and nephew Randy Lemasters, both of Chanute, KS.
