Raymond Lee Lesh

Raymond Lee Lesh, 80, passed away Wednesday, August 2, 2006. A Memorial Service will be at East Alton Community of Christ, 23rd St. and R.D. Mize Rd, Independence MO, Saturday, August 5, at 6:30 pm. A gathering will be held following the service for visiting and celebration of Ray�s life. Contributions are suggested for the East Alton Elevator Fund. Raymond, a lifelong resident of Independence, was born April 19, 1926, to Flora and Floyd Lesh. In 1947 he married his sweetheart, Polly Lou Rohrs. His family will always remember him as a loving and giving husband, father, and grandfather. Ray lived an exemplary life of service dedicated to his family, his church, and his students. He was an active member of the Community of Christ, and served in the priesthood since 1952 and at the time of his death was an evangelist. Raymond was preceded in death by his parents, and his brothers Wilbur and Leonard Lesh. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Polly Lesh; children, Ralph Lesh, Nancy Schaub, Lynda Roberson, and Carol Bolt; 8 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, and six siblings.
