Harry E. Leslie, 88, Raytown, formerly of Independence, MO passed away Tuesday, April 3, 2012.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, April 7, 2012 at Carson-Speaks Chapel; 1501 W. Lexington Ave., Independence, MO, 64052. Burial to follow at Garden City Cemetery, Garden City, MO with Military Honors. Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Kansas City Hospice House.
Harry was born January 10, 1924 in Garden City, MO the son of Charles E. and Thelma Blanch (Sharper) Leslie. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of WWII, receiving four Bronze Stars and one Battle Star. Harry retired from Ford Motor Company after 33 years. He was a member of the Glenwood Park United Methodist Church, the Cass County Masonic Lodge #147 and the UAW Local #249. Harry enjoyed fishing and traveling. Family values and traditions meant the most to Harry and that showed in the way he lived his life.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Margie Leslie in 1994; sister, Helen Graves; brother, Herb Leslie; sister, Harriett Early; and his parents.
Survivors include his daughter, Linda Hocker and husband Ron; sons Larry Leslie and wife Danna, Marty Leslie and wife Janice; ten grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews and family.
