Dorothy Lester

Dorothy E. Lester, 89, has joined her Savior and her sons, Keith Lester (1999) and Dan Lester (2009) following complications from surgery. She and Lyman (1971) raised their three children in the Fairmount area of Independence. Also preceding her, sister Lois Gibler, and nephews Charles Stokes, Gary Stokes, and Rodney Gibler. Dorothy leaves her daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Chip Conklin, KC, MO, sister, Gladys Stokes, Phillipsburg, MO, brother-in-law Graham Lester (Violet), two grandsons, David (Rei) Lester and Craig (Melissa) Lester, six great-grandchildren, and HFYM-Dave Erickson, Leawood, KS. She joined Westminster Presbyterian Church (now Trinity) in 1955 and was a 50 year member of the Order of Eastern Star. She was a proud Mother and each of her children was devoted to her, as she was to them. A memorial visitation will be from 2-3:00 PM Saturday, September 18 at Carson-Speaks Chapel, 1501 W. Lexington Ave., Independence with memorial services to begin at 3:00 PM. Private family inurnment at Mt. Washington Cemetery. Please omit flowers.
