Johnnie Leuty

Johnnie A. Leuty, 59, of Independence, MO went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Sunday, January 11, 2009. Services will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday, January 15, 2009 at Carson-Speaks Chapel. Visitation will be 6-8:00 p.m. Wednesday in the chapel. Burial in Mt. Washington Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Cray Diabetes Center c/o KU Medical Center. Johnnie was born May 4, 1949 in Butler, MO to Edgar Allen and Minnie Lee (Moore) Leuty. He was a faithful and active member of Charity Missionary Baptist Church. Mr. Leuty was known for his warm smile, loving heart and great sense of humor. Johnnie is survived by his wife of 33 years, Joan (Breshears) Leuty; daughters Tiffany Leuty, Melanie Leuty Blackwell and husband Tim, Cassandra Leuty; sisters Donna Short and husband Jesse, Cynthia Fillpot and husband Oscar, Debra Bruner and husband Vance; and by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and many special friends. He was preceded in death by his parents.
