Myra Lea Lewis of Independence died at Kansas City Hospice House on July 22, 2015 at the age of 71. Myra was born on August 22, 1943 in Kansas City, MO. She was a graduate of William Chrisman High School and attended University of Central Missouri. She was a member of the First Christian Church of Independence. She was preceded in death by her parents Myra and Milton Harris of Independence. Myra is survived by her husband of 52 years, Frank Lewis of Independence; her children, Mike and Joni Lewis of Denver Colorado and Leanne and David Downs of Independence as well as her sister, Michelle Ganson of Independence. She is also survived by her “grand boys” David and Dean Downs and John and Jacob Lewis. All those who loved Myra knew she would always make time for any friend, neighbor or family who needed assistance. The impact she had on the lives she touched through her generosity and compassion will never be forgotten. A memorial service to honor Myra will be Friday, July 31, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at the Speaks Suburban Chapel, 18020 E. 39th St., Independence, MO.
