Morgan J. Lewis, Sr., 84, Independence, MO passed away Nov. 10, 2009 at Centerpoint Medical Center. The Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11 am, Thursday, Nov. 12 at St. mark’s Catholic Church; interment with Full Military Honors at Woodlawn Cemetery. Visitation will be 6 �"8 pm, Wed. at Speaks Suburban Chapel, 18020 E. 39th Street, Independence, MO 64055. The family suggests contributions to St. Mark’s Catholic Church.
Morgan was born Aug. 27, 1925 in Kansas City and was an area resident most of his life. He was a U. S. Navy veteran of WW II and the Korean Era. He worked at the Lipton plant in Independence for twenty-two years before retiring in 1982. He was a member of the church, Knights of Columbus and the Teamsters.
Morgan was preceded in death by his wife Beatrice Mabel (Hans) Lewis in 1983. He is survived by his wife Engeline; his children: Kathy, Morgan Jr., Sandra, John and Judy; his step-children Leah and Chelo; his grandchildren and his great-grandchildren.
