Betty Liddle

February 18, 1922 — August 29, 2007

Betty Dean Liddle, 85, of Independence, MO was ushered into the presence of her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, August 29, 2007 at Monterey Park Health Center. Services will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, September 1, 2007 at Carson-Speaks Chapel. Visitation will be 6-8:00 p.m. Friday in the chapel. Burial in Woodlawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Pleasant Grove Bible Church Missions Fund. Betty was born February 18, 1922 in Independence, MO to Zenas and Glen (Jackson) Smith. She was a life-long resident of Independence and graduated from William Chrisman High School in 1940. She married William “Bill” Liddle, Jr. in 1943. Mrs. Liddle spent the majority of her life as a homemaker. In her later years she was employed by the Jackson County Election Board. Betty drew her strength from her personal relationship with Jesus Christ and throughout her life studied and taught God’s word. She was a member of Pleasant Grove Bible Church where she taught Sunday School, led Bible Studies and actively participated in the missions program of the church. Mrs. Liddle was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary Post 21 and held various offices over the years. Betty will always be remembered for her quiet and gentle spirit and her devotion to her family. She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Bill Liddle; son Larry Liddle and wife Marilyn; daughter Sheryl Liddle; two grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. She leaves a legacy of loving and serving her God. The family wishes to express their gratitude to the staff at Monterey Park Health Center, St. Mary’s Hospital Medical Surgical Unit and Kansas City Hospice for their loving care.
