Nita Lightfoot

Nita Nichols Lightfoot, 86, Lee’s Summit, MO passed away June 1, 2010. Services will be 2 pm, Sat., June 5 at Speaks Suburban Chapel, 18020 E. 39th Street, Independence, MO 64055; interment at Forest Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be 6 – 8 pm, Friday, June 4 at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions to Special Neighbors, Inc. 3675 S. Nita Zoe (Eisenhower) was born on Sept. 13, 1923 in Rosedale, KS to William and Grace Eisenhower. She was one of seven children.. She lived in the Metro area all of her life. She was a loving mother and grandmother. Her family was the most important people in her life. She accepted the Lord, was baptized and a member of Beacon Free Will Baptist Church of Raytown. At one time she owned and operated a restaurant in Kansas City, KS called Bill & Nita’s Café.
Nita was preceded in death by her parents, her beloved daughter Linda Marie Dickinson: her beloved grandson Steven Henry Nichols, Jr.; four sisters and a brother. She is survived by daughters Jo Ann Poe, Kansas City, MO; Penny Lea Nichols, Grain Valley, MO; son Steven H. Nichols, Spring Hill, KS; daughter Debbie Peerson and husband Mike, Lee’s Summit, MO; brother Ward H. Eisenhower and wife Patsy, Kansas City, MO; grandchildren Tracy, Jennifer, Tommy, Alana and Nic; great-grandchildren Braden, Alec, A.J. and Ian; step-sons Larry Lightfoot and wife Drexel, Jacksonville, FL; Robert Nichols and wife Vikkie, Broken Arrow OK; six step-grandchildren; nine step-great-grandchildren.
