Lila Vestal passed away peacefully at her home on October 3, 2026, surrounded by her precious family.
Lila was born on August 10, 1951, in Bethany, Missouri. To everyone's surprise, she entered the world as a twin, born alongside her beloved brother, Lyle. From the very beginning, Lyle was a part of her life, and their special bond remained with her throughout her entire life.
On her 18th birthday in 1969, Lila married the love of her life, Ron Vestal of Kansas City, Kansas. She loved Ron with all her heart, and together they shared 43 years of marriage until his passing.
Lila and Ron were blessed with two daughters, Rhonda and Kristi, whom she loved more than life itself. Her grandchildren, Chase, Brieanna, Karlim and Kadie, were among the greatest blessings of her life and brought her endless love and joy. In her final days, she was blessed with the arrival of her first great-grandchild, a precious new addition to the family who brought even more joy to her heart.
Lila and Ronny were co-owners of Clay's Tire Service, which Ronny started in 1978. In 2007, Lila began working at Serco, where she remained until her retirement in 2016. She loved the people she worked with, and over the years, her coworkers became extended family to her. Their love and support meant so much to Lila, especially during the difficult years following the loss of her twin brother and her husband.
Of everything Lila accomplished and everyone she knew, nothing was more precious to her than her family. Her greatest desire was for those she loved to remember two things: always put God first and love everyone. Those words reflected the way she lived her life- with faith, love, kindness, and a heart for others.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Viola and Charles Garringer; her twin brother, Lyle; and her beloved husband, Ron Vestal.
She is survived by her daughters, Rhona and Kristi; her grandchildren, Chase, Brieanna, Karli, and Kadie; great-grandchild, Maverick; her brothers, Jim and Gerry; her sisters-in-law, Chee and Cheryl; and partner Kenneth Rambo, who was by her side and cared for her with such love. She also leaves behind many other family members, friends, and loved ones who will forever cherish her memory.
A visitation will be held at Speaks Suburban Chapel on Saturday, October 10th from 10-11 am, followed by a celebration of life beginning at 11 am. She will be laid to rest at Morris Chapel Cemetery in Bethany, Missouri.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Christ United Methodist Church in Lila's memory.
