Alma Irene Liley, 85 of Independence, MO passed away, Tuesday, May 28, 2013 at Truman Lakewood Nursing Home. Services will be 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, June 4, 2013 at the Carson-Speaks Chapel 1501 W. Lexington Ave., Independence, MO 64050. Burial will follow in Mt. Washington Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 12:00 p.m., until service time Tuesday at the chapel. Donations may be made in her name to Alzheimer’s Research or to Kansas City Hospice. Alma was born October 27, 1927 in Topeka, KS to Cliff and Floreine (Whilhite) Pool. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother and homemaker who enjoyed shopping, cleaning, collecting crystal, bowling and most of all spending time with her family. She had also worked as the manager of Red Barn Restaurant in Independence, MO. She was a member of the First Christian Church of Independence, MO. She is survived by; a daughter, Yvonne Foreman and husband Rick of Lee’s Summit, MO; 3 sons, Donald McGhee and wife Deborah of Blue Springs, MO, Michael McGhee and wife Valeta of Odessa, MO and Matthew Liley and wife Lynne of Pleasant Hill, MO; a brother, Cliff Pool and wife Judy of Deltona, FL; 15 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren and 5 great great grandchildren.. She was preceded in death her husband Arthur E. Liley in 1991 and her parents and step father Glen Pool.
