In Loving Memory of Linda Lou Bandy

Linda Lou Bandy, 80, passed away on November 29, 2025. She was born on January 16, 1945, in Springfield, Missouri, the daughter of Willard and Hallie Scroggins. Her father was killed in World War II, and her mother later married Roy Sanders, who lovingly helped raise Linda.

Linda was an accomplished pianist and shared her gift of music throughout her life. She served as pianist for several churches she attended, enriching worship services with her talent and devotion. When her children were young, she taught piano lessons at home, giving each of her daughters their first lessons and instilling in them a love for music. Her passion for teaching extended beyond music. Linda loved leading Sunday School classes, particularly those designed for women. In her later years, she devoted much of her time to guiding women’s ministries, teaching Bible classes, and organizing retreats. Through these efforts, she inspired countless women with her faith, wisdom, and encouragement.

Her greatest passion, however, was being a mother and grandmother. She delighted in spending time with her grandchildren, cherishing every moment together, and felt deeply the ache of separation when distance kept them apart. In all seasons, she faithfully pointed them toward God, even when His leading in her life or in theirs required temporary sacrifice and separation.

Linda is survived by her husband: Wayne Bandy; children: Melanie Ledford (Jeff), Sharum Newberry (Rick), and Carrie Hoelscher (Clem); her grandchildren: Cassidy Zambrano (Leo), Hunter Hoelscher (Kennedy), John Paul Williams, Josh Ledford, Allie Reeves (Austin), and Abby Ledford; her great grandson: Arthur Reeves; her sister, Ava Gail Klesen; and her brother, James Scroggins (Roberta). She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Roger Sanders.

A celebration of Linda’s life will be held at Maywood Baptist Church on Saturday, December 27, at 11:00 a.m., with visitation beginning one hour prior.

Linda will be remembered for her gentle spirit, her unwavering faith, and the love she poured into everyone she met.
