Alice R. Lindgren, 75, Independence, MO passed away April 20, 2008 at Lee’s Summit Medical Center. Services will be at 10 am, Thursday, April 24, 2008 at the Stone Church; interment at Mound Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be 6:30-8:30 pm, Wed. at Speaks Suburban Chapel. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions to the Stone Church Memorial Fund in Memory of Alice Lindgren.
Alice was born Feb. 12, 1933 in Independence. She later earned her undergraduate degree from Iowa State University and then pursued graduate studies at the University of Maryland. She was a Past President of the Independence Optimist Club and a member of the Mary Paxton Study Club. She was a tireless volunteer for many organizations, including Nutra-Net, and worked in the libraries of Luff Elementary, Palmer Jr. High and Truman High Schools. She was a life-long member of the Community of Christ. She attended the Stone Church and also volunteered in the Church Library.
Alice was preceded in death by her husband of forty-one years Dr. Carleton Lindgren in 1997. She is survived by daughter Carla Green and husband Jamie, Eureka, MO; son Dr. Jay Lindgren, Denver, CO; and grandchildren Patrick and Emma Green; Morgan, Max and Jack Lindgren.
