Ruby D. Lindsey, 71, Independence, MO passed away Feb. 20, 2013. Services will be 2 pm, Monday, Feb. 25 at Speaks Suburban Chapel. 18020 E. 39th St., Independence, MO 64055. Cremation and interment at Oak Ridge Memory Gardens will follow at a later date. Visitation will be 3-5 pm, Sunday at the chapel. In lieu of flowers the family requests contributions to Harvesters Food Bank, 3801 Topping Ave. Kansas City, MO 64129.
Ruby was born March 23, 1941 in Jasper, AR. She was a nurse’s aide at Independence Manor for many years. She enjoyed cooking, sewing and her flower garden. Most of all she loved being with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Ruby was preceded in death by her significant other Steven Haglen. She is survived by sons William Pennington, Kirksville, MO; Walter Atkins, Blue Springs, MO; daughter Peggy Driscoll and husband Joe, Napoleon, MO; sister Wanda Cutshall, Iona, MO; sister-in-law Barbara Snow, Warsaw, MO and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and other family members.
