Kenneth A. Lisk, 65, Tyler, TX passed away unexpectedly Dec. 17, 2011. Services will be 10 am, Friday, Dec. 23 at Spring Valley Baptist Church, 8801 E. 79th St., Raytown, MO 64138; interment at Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 6-8 pm, Thursday at Speaks Suburban Chapel, 18020 E. 39th St., Independence, MO 64055. Ken was born Oct. 19, 1946 in Kansas City, MO. He graduated from Northeast High School in the Class of 1964 and attended Southwest Baptist College before enlisting in the Air Force. He was a very proud U.S. Air Force veteran who served in the Vietnam War. Following his time in the service, he earned a B.S. from the University of Central Missouri. He worked for the Missouri Pacific/ Union Pacific Railroad for fifteen years before starting Fireside Homes in 1990. He worked in the housing construction industry until his retirement in 2008. He was a member of the Kansas City Home Builders Assoc. Ken enjoyed traveling, most all sports including golf and baseball.
The most important thing in his life was his personal relationship with Jesus Christ, which influenced his life as a businessman, husband, father, grandfather and friend. He served as a deacon at Bethany Baptist Church. He had a servant’s heart and was constantly helping and encouraging others.
Ken is survived by his soulmate and wife Marsha Lisk, of the home; son Jason Lisk and wife Loree, Lee’s Summit, MO; daughter Kendra Wilson and husband Brad, Waco, TX; sister Sharon Miller and husband Jim, Lee’s Summit, MO; brother Steve Lisk, Independence, MO. His grandchildren were the loves of his life, to his final moments on earth he was celebrating and playing with grandchildren Owen, Ainslee, Harper and Jameson Lisk; Colton, Kenley, and Alana Wilson. He is also survived by many other family members whom he loved and who loved him.
