Kenneth A. Lisk, 92, Independence, MO passed away Aug. 20, 2011. Services will be 10 am, Tuesday, Aug. 23 at Speaks Suburban Chapel, 18020 E. 39th Street, Independence, MO 64055; interment with Full Military Honors at Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 6:30-8 pm, Monday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers the family requests contributions to the Disabled American Veterans, 8787 Old Santa Fe Rd. Kansas City, MO 64138.
Kenneth was born May 12, 1919 in Oskaloosa, IA. His family moved to the Kansas City area and he graduated from Northeast High School. He was a U.S. Army veteran of WW II where he served in the Pacific Theater. He worked for the Milwaukee-Kansas City Southern Railroad for forty-three years until his retirement in 1981. He was a member of the 1st Baptist Church of Raytown and was a caregiver for his wife for five years until her death in 2009. He was a big sports fan and loved to golf.
Kenneth was preceded in death by his wife of sixty-seven years, Margaret Lisk and sister Mildred Whites. He is survived by children Sharon Miller and husband Jim; Ken Lisk and wife Marsha; and Steve Lisk; grandchildren Tricia Triplett and husband Steve; Amy Brooks and husband Mark; Jason Lisk and wife Loree; Kendra Wilson and husband Brad; twelve great-grandchildren; brother-in-law Robert Arnold and wife Lorene and a host of extended family and friends.
