William “Bill” Lockridge, 70 of Independence, MO passed away Thu. Jul 31, 2008 at K. U. Medical Center. Mr. Lockridge was born on Nov. 15, 1937 to Lloyd and Carrie (Mather) Lockridge in Melbourne, MO. Bill had worked at Ford Motor Company for over 30 years, retiring in 1998. He was a member of UAW local 249 and was of the Baptist Faith. Bill was a loving husband, father and grandfather who enjoyed hunting and fishing and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren, whom he adored. Bill was preceded in death by his father and a daughter, Carrie. He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Sue Lockridge of Independence. Two daughters, Anita Godwin and husband Stewart of Kuwait and Shari Phillips and husband Rodney of Independence. A sister Mary Hightree and husband Ed of Claremore, OK. His mother, Carrie Lockridge of Independence, four grandchildren, Garrett Phillips, Braydon Phillips, Logan Phillips and Sydney Godwin and by several nieces and nephews.
